If we walk by the rivers or drive past them which go through city． We can see the chemical factories near them pouring waste water into them without doing anything to it all the time．As a result, the fish and kinks of animals in them are dying out because of the polluted water．Many trees have been cut down while no more trees have been planted in the places．People leave rubbish everywhere．All these have caused some serious problems．For example, the land is sandy, the air is less clean, even the temperature of the earth is rising． As we know, the 2008 Olympics will be hosted in Beijing．In order to improve our environment, we should plant more trees, sort the rubbish and put it into right dustbins and stop factories pouring waste directly the air or rivers． In word, nowadays the most important thing we can do is to protect the environment．

Mankind has brought so much pollution. Waste is being poured into rivers and seas. Poisons to kill pests in farming and chemicals go into rivers and seas, too. Poisonous gasses from factories also make the air so dirty. The whole balance of nature is being destroyed as a result of our ignorance of the environmental protection.

They are only the by products of economic development, which can be dealt with later when we have the time and money.
I think the second idea is completelywrong. Our ultimate aim in economic development is to provide a comfortable and happy life for our people. What is the point of economic development if we achieve it at the cost of our environmentThere has been much evidence to prove that a balance between the two helps more rapid and continuous development.
